Does the body need chlorophyll?

The short answer, YES


Now for the long answer.


What is chlorophyll?

It is a pigment that gives vegetation a green color.

It is also a supplement that is becoming widely popular amongst health influencers.




Benefits;

It can help boost the immune system- it helps the production of white blood cells and protects the body from free radicals.


Whole body deodorant- chlorophyll has been shown the help with the body odors of those living in nursing homes. It is also being added to mouthwashes and deodorants.


May increase energy- chlorophyll may help with the production of red blood cells and these cells are responsible for carrying oxygen needed for energy production throughout the body.


Wound healing- there are studies that show that chlorophyll may reduce inflammation and bacterial growth in skin wounds.


Acne- there are a few supplements on the market that are now beginning to include chlorophyllin in their formulas.







Ways to get chlorophyll in your diet;

There are many different ways to get this into your regular diet and a few of those include;

Eating green vegetables

Juicing vegetables if you are not a greens eater

Taking supplements in liquid, powder, or pill form

And adding greens like spinach and sprouts to a smoothie


How much do we need?

Research says that we need 100 - 300 mg of chlorophyll daily.



Side Effects;

From what the research shows there are mostly no side effects other than possible nausea and or diarrhea
