Fall Has Officially Arrived!

Today is the official first day of Fall / Autumn! With Fall in the air, pumpkin spice is back, scarves and boots are being pulled out of closets, and bonfires are being prepared. I have a few things that are MUST DOS for when the weather cools down and the nights get longer.

1. Go to your local coffee shop and order your seasonal drink.

This may seem like a no-brainer for most of us, but some people need to be reminded that the holidays bring around new coffee flavours that are only available in this part of the year! So whether you like pumpkin spice, maple, or snickerdoodle, get your cup and start the season off right!

2. Go to the Pumpkin Patch

The pumpkin patch has always been a tradition for my family. When late September/ early October comes, we gather ourselves up and head to the area a few miles from my parents and pick the cutest pumpkins we can! The pumpkin patch we go to also has a corn maze and games for the kids, so this little outing turns into a few hours of memory-making and family fun!

3. Have a Picnic!

I am fortunate enough to live very close to downtown Nashville. With being so close to downtown, it is perfect to make a picnic full of seasonal goodies and head to the lawn of the Parthenon for a lovely afternoon of people watching. You may even opt into grabbing some tacos from Mas Tacos and a burger from The Pharmacy instead of packing your own lunch!

4. Go, Apple Picking!

Nothing is better than eating a crisp, sweet apple in the Fall! I love to go apple picking because I not only get to pick my own apples, but I get to help out the farmer who grew them! This is such a fun Fall tradition and it really doesn't get any more simple than this.

5. Go to an American Football game!

The last thing on my list for today is a definite no-brainer for the American culture! Fall in America means college football games all weekend long. I would much prefer to watch a game in person instead of on the tv, but watching it on tv is a good alternative. American football has become such a large part of our culture that it would be unspeakable to miss a game in some families.

A little herbalism, a little bookish content, and a whole lot of fun!
