Herbs for Digestion
If you are like me, you have a bit of a sensitive stomach, and that presents itself in many different ways such as a rash or irritated itchy skin. I wanted to share a few ways that I keep my stomach issues at bay!
This herb is one of the most well-known for stomach issues, but let's look at what it actually does. It stimulates the salivatory glands which improves gastric mobility. It also encourages digestion so that food is not staying in the guy very long.
Ginger is full of vitamins C & B, iron, calcium, and Phosphorus
You can take this in many forms including capsules, powdered, and grated into dishes.
Peppermint is full of phosphorus, zinc, vitamins A & C, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and many other minerals!
One way that this herb helps with digestion is by improving the flow of bile thus aiding in the breakdown of fats. Because you are breaking down fat quicker, the food, much like ginger, is not sitting in your gut waiting to be digested.
This herb does wonders for digestion such as reducing gas and bloating.
Cinnamon is great for those who tend to have a more sluggish digestive system.
A few other uses for cinnamon is diarrhea, abdominal pain, and IBS!
Cinnamon is full of potassium, magnesium, and calcium, it also contains vitamins B & K
