Have you ever taken a stroll through the forest, stood by the ocean, or sat in your backyard whilst listening to the birds sing and notice you felt completely at peace? There could be a specific reason for feeling so peaceful and small when in nature.

Everything within our bodies are connected, and our bodies are connected to the nature around us. This is one of the reasons our bodies react to seasonal changes in negative ways, such as in the Spring/Summer.
Our bodies are made to be in nature
There are studies that show the sound of birds chirping and the feeling of wind on our skin, reduces stress in the body.
It is also said that other benefits of being in nature are;
boosted immune system,
increased energy,
improved memory,
improved focus,
natural vitamin C,
a more active lifestyle
and reduces depression.
Getting Into Nature
Hiking, camping, swimming, tending a garden, taking a daily walk, kayaking, fishing, stringing a hammock, laying on the beach while listening to the waves crash, and grounding.
There are so many ways to get into nature that the small list above doesn't begin to show how much fun it can be when you get outside.
You can take hikes that are easy and flat, or you could hike a waterfall, you can even hike up mountains even though they tend to be more intensive.
You May Have Noticed I mentioned Something Called Grounding
Sometimes grounding is also referred to as Earthing
This is a concept that has been around for thousands of years but has been brought to the general public in 1998 by Clint Ober.
There are some interesting benefits to walking around barefoot and I want to share a few of them before I wrap up this post!
The theory behind grounding is that our bodies are bioelectrical. Our internal cells are negatively charged and the area around the cells is positively charged. The earth has a negative charge as well, so when our bare feet are on the ground, excess energy is expelled.
There are many benefits to walking barefoot, and a few of them include; reduced inflammation, a balanced body, decreased pain, improved mood, increased energy, and improved wound healing.
“There I feel that nothing can befall me in life—no disgrace, no calamity (leaving me my eyes), which nature cannot repair.”
- Ralph Waldo Emmerson
