What's The Deal with Wheatgrass?
I have recently been re-watching Dharma & Greg and it made me realize that so much of who I am now is loosely based on Dharma and her parents.
One thing they drink, or talk about frequently is wheatgrass juice. So, I thought I'd take a moment and see why it's a big deal.

What are the benefits of wheatgrass and should we take it every day?
Wheatgrass has many nutritional factors that we should know about.
It is high in chlorophyll, antioxidant glutathione
Vitamins B6, C, and E.
It also contains magnesium and iron.
There are a few things that wheatgrass can do for our overall health, so let's look at that!
In a few studies done in animals, studies showed that those who were given wheatgrass had lower total cholesterol than those who were not given the juice.
Researchers found that effects of wheatgrass was comparable to that of atorvastatin (a prescription for high cholesterol)
Wheatgrass is high in antioxidants, and because of that there are studies that show it may help with cancer.
One study found that wheatgrass decreased the risk of impaired bone marrow function in 60 people with breast cancer.
Another study found that wheatgrass extract decreased mouth cancer spreading by 41%
Studies have found it can also help with weight loss, blood sugar regulation, and may alleviate inflammation
How to take it?!
There is a way for everyone to get this health food into your diet!
You can take it as a capsule, juice, or powder.
You can also use it in a salad dressing if you are not interested in taking it as any of the above categories.
